Summer without a trip abroad = disastrous summer? Only if are not ready to discover the country from a different angle.
Here are some ideas on how to get the most from this summer and fill out your calendar with cool events.
Leopolis Jazz Fest
When: June 26-30
Leopolis Jazz Fest is a jazz music festival that takes place in Leo City for eight seasons already. In 2018, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, Zlata Ognevich, Pianoboy, Jamala and other celebrities attended the festival.
The event will take place on traditional main stages:
- Stage named after Eddie Rosner (park them. B. Khmelnitsky) – admission by ticket.
- Stage at Market Square – free admission.
- Stage in the courtyard of the Potocki Palace – free admission.

When: July 9 – 14
Organizers of the festival never reveal all the cards at once and announce headliners over time. At the moment, it is known that The Chainsmokers, Black Eyed Peas, Liam Gallagher, Michael Kiwanuka, Splin, The Hardkiss, Asap Rocky will perform at Atlas. Last year, The Chemical Brothers and Nothing But Thieves were the headliners of the fest.
Odessa International Film Festival
When: July 12 – 20
The 10th OIFF will display the entire history of the film festival over the 10 years of its existence, as well as the entire powerful history of world cinema, the organizers say.
This year a new nomination named “The Audience Prize” will appear at the festival. The amount of the prize reaches 60 000 UAH.
For 9 days, the famous Potemkin Staircase becomes a huge open-air cinema overlooking the Black Sea, gathering about 15 thousand spectators.
When: July 16-18
Californian pop-punks SWMRS, indie rockers Nothing But Thieves, British metallers BRING ME THE HORIZON, Pale Waves, the American band 30 Seconds to Mars, Rag’n’Bone Man, MØ and the South African band Die Antwoord will sparkle at the festival.
When: July 25-28
This year the festival will be held for the seventh time. Faine Misto is one of the few Ukrainian festivals which literally involves all modern music styles. The best Ukrainian and invited foreign music artists perform rock, alternative, folk, pop hits on the seven stages. This year, locals and guests of the city will listen to the hits of Arch Enemy, Powerwolf, Kadebostany, The Hardkiss, O.Torvald, Boombox.
When: August 2-11
The International Festival of Classical Music will last 10 days, during which the public will listen to more than 150 pieces of music known by every music connoisseur!
In 2018, LvivMozArt program included works of the 18th-21st centuries written by Ukrainian composers Dmitry Bortnyansky, Boris Lyatoshynsky, Vitaly Gubarenko, Bogdan Segin, Yevhen Stankovych, Yuriy Lanyuk and Zoltan Almashi. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s original violin – Costa Violine – brought to Ukraine from Salzburg also sounded on the fest.
